The Battle of Monmouth takes place this weekend.
I have just discovered that my musket was not cleaned since Fort Mercer...back in October.
Yuck.

After reading your more recent post re: the battle, it sounds to me like beer drinking was probably the highlight of the day. Crapulent weather!
