Slightly Crippled.

After fencing our fencing group's somewhat insane Captain, he pointed out to me on one shot I should have raised my arm higher to make a strike from a higher angle. This made sense, but then I told him that I cannot really raise my right arm very high.

Thing is, this was not some speech I gave out a hundred times before. Its something that I've been partially aware of for sometime. My right shoulder is somewhat impaired as far as raising my arm is concerned.

Oh, I can raise my arm, but it is very slow and stiff. The body does not like this abuse, and I certainly cannot bring it to bear with any decent speed during fencing. It does not hurt, per se, it just does not want to go.

I've been aware of this for a while in the sense that I sleep on my side, with my arm tucked underneath the pillow. For a long time I have not been able to sleep on my right side since my shoulder does not feel comfortable in that position.

This is odd: I've been aware of this condition for some time, but last night was the first time I acknowledged it out loud. Weird.

Find a good osteopath (D.O.) to have a look at it -- and no, these doctors are NOT quacks. He / she should be able to give you an idea of what the problem might be. Better sooner than later, Sven!
